We had hoped to license René Campbell's "Fabric of Life" in a derived form that fit into a logo like needed here. But alas, she cannot offer such use. The drawing is still the best mix expressing the spirit of genetic genealogy in its truest form. We show it to the right here and encourage you to visit her website for more details and T-Shirts with the image. Her "Fabric of Life" image is copyright by René Campbell and used by permission here.
We so often depict genealogy by a tree and define our ancestors as our roots. By imaging the trunk of the tree as the DNA double helix, the artist shows that our ancestors roots feed into our trunk through the DNA they pass onto us. And that we then pass portions of this mix onto our offspring in the branches above. Her original image has three turns of the spiral. As this would not fit into a logo-style image and still be discernible, we originally compacted the trunk to a single turn. But alas, not to be.
