Elizabeth McKee Ancestry

We have finally started a page to track what we know and resources discovered to try and find the ancestry of Elizabeth McKee of Pittsburgh. The mother of Peter Horr's children who died early. Isolating her line using autosomal DNA has not yet been helpful in finding any common descendants of her ancestors.

What we know

The first record we really have of Elizabeth is her marriage to Peter Horr in 1841 in Tazewell County, Illinois. Later census records indicate she came from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. No indication of her parents or siblings is yet forthcoming.

Possible DNA Matches

There are many DNA matches with descendants of Peter and Elizabeth. So differentiating those from those descended from Elizabeth's ancestors has been an issue. Partly because the matching when adding just one more generation is at the fringe of reliability.
